The Estonian Association of Designer Bookbinders in co-operation with the Estonian Literature Center invites you to participate in the International Exhibition of Artistic Bookbinding Scripta Manent V "Young Estonian Poetry" and conference in the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design in Tallinn.

The exhibition will be opened on February 12th, 2015 and closed on May 13th, 2015.

Applications for participation in the exhibition and for acquisition the sets of sheets are expected to be sent to Mrs. Sirje Kriisa, member of the Estonian Association of Designer Bookbinders, by April 2, 2014.

The participation fee, which contains the cost of sheets, the exhibition catalogue and the postal expenses, is 90 EUR. Payments should be made via bank transfer to the Non-Profit Organization Estonian Association of Designer Bookbinders:

The bookbinding or -object should not weigh more than 3 kg and not exceed the measurements 35 x 35 x 35 cm. Every artist who has registered and paid the participation fee will receive the set of sheets by post to the postal address written on the registration form. The exhibits together with a short biography of the creative work of the artist and a short technical description should be sent to the Academic Library of Tallinn University starting from October 1, 2014. The jury will gather on October 31, 2014 and select three bindings / objects of art whose authors will each receive equal non-monetary main prizes – the Golden Books. Fifteen authors will receive non-monetary encouragement prizes. In the student category, one non-monetary prize will be given to the best young bookbinder. One special prize will be given to the author of the most ingenious technical or the most inventive artistic solution.

All participants will receive diplomas. The jury reserves the right to exclude artistically or technically inadequate works. The organizers of the exhibition reserve the right to take photographs of the exhibits and publish the photos in the catalogue of the exhibition, on the web page of the exhibition and in press with intention of informing the public and introducing the exhibition. The members of the jury can participate in the exhibition, but not compete in acquiring prizes.


After the exhibition the exhibits will be returned to the authors within one month.
